Home Baked Stories is a pilot series showing the stories behind home cooked meals. Episode eight features Jennifer Polland and her grandmother who made their family Brisket recipe for us (recipe below). Here is one of many many ways you can make Brisket. It's all down to your taste really. Ingredients: 1 whole brisket, 4-7 lbs. Salt, pepper, garlic powder to taste Bay leaves, onions, celery 2 pkgs. onion soup mix 1/2 to 1 cup ketchup 1/2 to 1 cup of yellow mustard 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce Potatoes and/ or carrots Opt. flour to make a gravy from the sauce Cut off enough aluminum foil to completely wrap and seal brisket. Place foil in bottom of roast pan. Butter the foil at bottom of pan and place the brisket in foiled pan. Butter top of brisket. Sprinkle both packages of onion soup mix over brisket. Then spread ketchup and mustard over the top followed by an ample amount of garlic powder, salt and pepper and a few dashes of Worcestershire sauce. Chop onions and celery and place on top of brisket with a couple bay leaves. Fold foil around the brisket and crimp the edges to seal. You want to make sure no steam will come out. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour per pound. One...
